Depositing on OKX: P2P, on-chain, bank card, by country (checked November 2026)
OKX has no direct deposits in dong, naira or rupees. All three countries go through P2P, with zero fees for buyer and seller, but coins bought on P2P can trigger a 3, 7 or 15-day hold on selling and withdrawing. If you already hold USDT, deposit it on-chain for free. Bank card purchases take Visa and Mastercard at 1.99% to 3% depending on currency. xStocks are bought with USDT, so no swap is needed.
1. Which of the three routes
| Route | Who it suits | Fee | Arrival |
|---|---|---|---|
| P2P | Vietnam, Nigeria, Pakistan | Zero fees | When the merchant releases, minutes |
| On-chain deposit | You already hold USDT elsewhere | Deposit is free, the sender pays the network fee | After chain confirmation |
| Bank card | In a hurry, small amount | 1.99% to 3%, by currency | Instant |
OKX P2P has one rule the others don’t: verified users can only trade P2P in the fiat of their registered region. Live in Vietnam and you can only buy and sell dong, not browse other countries’ markets.
One more thing to know up front. Coins bought on P2P can trigger OKX’s T+N risk control, which blocks selling, withdrawals and DEX trading for 3, 7 or 15 days. The page tells you the exact length before you order. Swapping straight into xStocks isn’t affected, but if you planned to buy and withdraw, take note.
2. By country
Vietnam
Use P2P. Payment is mainly bank transfer, and some merchants take MoMo and ZaloPay. OKX’s xStocks are open to Vietnam, the only one of the three exchanges that lets Vietnamese users buy tokenized stocks. Once you have USDT, buy xStocks directly. No USDC needed.
Nigeria
Use P2P. OKX closed naira P2P in May 2024, left the country in August, and came back in July 2026 with naira P2P restored. Payment is by bank transfer and e-wallets like OPay and PalmPay. Existing users verify their identity again once. Note that OKX’s xStocks aren’t open to Nigeria, so the only US stock product you can touch on OKX is stock perpetuals. To buy and hold US stocks, go to Bybit.
Pakistan
Use P2P. In a late October 2026 count OKX’s rupee P2P had 232 ads, covering a dozen or so banks plus Easypaisa, JazzCash and Raast, and OKX had the lowest USDT price of the three in that count. xStocks aren’t explicitly open to Pakistan, so log in and see whether the entry shows.
3. How P2P works
OKX P2P has two entry points. Express matches the best price automatically and suits small amounts. The P2P marketplace lets you pick the merchant yourself.
Express: in the app open P2P Trading, choose Express, tap Buy, enter the amount, choose the coin and payment method, preview the order and confirm. The preview locks the quote for somewhere between ten and thirty seconds. When the countdown ends, refresh to rematch.
The marketplace:
- In the app tap Buy Crypto, choose P2P Trading, tap Buy.
- Choose the fiat and the coin, and filter by ad type and payment method.
- Pick an ad and tap Buy. Enter an amount within the limits, choose the payment method, tap “Buy with 0 fees”, then “I understand and continue”. OKX now locks the merchant’s coins.
- Transfer to the account details the merchant gives. Pay from an account in your own name, make sure the payee name matches the page, and don’t put USDT, crypto or similar words in the reference.
- When done tap “I have paid”, upload a screenshot of the payment proof, tap “Confirm payment”.
- Wait for the merchant to confirm and release. The USDT lands in your funding account.
OKX’s own warning: don’t pay with the countdown about to expire. When time runs out the coins go back to the merchant automatically and your money is left hanging. If you’re short on time, cancel and start again. Don’t cancel an order you’ve paid for. Agree the refund with the merchant in chat first. If the merchant won’t release, tap “Appeal” and support releases the coins once verified.
The risk in P2P is your bank account. Section 4 of each country page has five rules: trade only inside the platform, your own account, only the order number in the reference, a dedicated account, keep screenshots.
4. On-chain deposits
- In the app open Assets, tap Deposit, choose On-chain deposit, choose USDT.
- Pick the network. For USDT the common ones are TRC20, BEP20 and Solana. It must match the sending side. OKX’s own words: a coin or network you can’t find on the deposit page isn’t supported, and a deposit over it is lost.
- Choose the receiving account, funding or trading. xStocks are traded from the trading account, so picking it here saves a transfer.
- Copy the address, enter the address and network on the sending side, send. Wait for chain confirmation.
Deposits are free. Each coin on each chain has a minimum, and anything below it isn’t credited. Coins like XRP that need a tag require both the address and the tag.
5. Buying with a bank card
In the app open Buy and sell, tap Buy, choose the coin and amount, set the payment method to Visa or Mastercard. The first time you add a card and a billing address. Read the fee on the preview page before tapping Buy. Your bank sends a code by SMS or app. The crypto lands in your assets.
The fee depends on the currency of your country of residence. OKX’s table lists 1.99% for euros, 2.49% for US dollars and 3% for UAE dirhams. For other currencies go by the checkout page. With a credit card, some banks treat the purchase as a cash advance and add their own fee.
6. After depositing: no swap needed for xStocks
OKX’s xStocks are bought with USDT. Transfer the USDT from P2P to the trading account and you’re ready. Stock perpetuals use USDT too. If you’re withdrawing USDT to Bybit for real stocks, use TRC20 or BEP20, and check for a T+N hold before withdrawing.
