Bybit identity verification: Standard, Advanced or Pro (checked November 2026)
Bybit has three verification levels. Standard is a photo of your ID plus a face scan, about fifteen minutes, and unlocks buying crypto, spot, derivatives and P2P. Advanced adds one proof of address dated within three months, and you need it for real stocks and the Bybit Card. Pro is due diligence that ordinary users never need. Only photos of physical documents are accepted, no scans. Verification goes by nationality, not where you live.
1. What each level unlocks
| What you submit | What it unlocks | Daily withdrawal limit | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Unverified | Nothing | Looking only. No deposits, buying or trading | 20,000 USDT, 100,000 per month |
| Standard | ID photo + face scan | Deposits, P2P, card purchases, spot, derivatives, Earn, xStocks, Rewards Hub | 1,000,000 USDT, no monthly cap |
| Advanced | One more document, proof of address | Adds Bybit Stocks real stocks, Bybit Card, large crypto purchases | 2,000,000 USDT |
| Pro | Questionnaire + proof of income | Institutional-level limits | Same as Advanced |
The upshot: for buying USDT, swapping to USDC, xStocks and derivatives, Standard is enough. For real stocks you must reach Advanced, which is one extra step for proof of address. Most readers stop at Advanced.
2. How to do Standard verification
- In the app tap your avatar to open Account, then tap Verify Now in the Identity Verification row.
- Pick your current country of residence. This decides the ID options and the products you can use, so pick the real one.
- Pick the issuing country and the document type, then take the photos. Accepted: passport, national ID card, residence permit, driving licence, showing a photo, name, date of birth, document number and issue date. Only photos of physical documents, no scans or screenshots.
- Face scan. On the phone it’s direct. On the website you can scan a QR code to continue on your phone.
- Identity assessment. Most people pass automatically after the face scan. A few are asked to fill in a questionnaire.
Bybit says it usually takes about fifteen minutes, and up to 48 hours in complex cases. Past 48 hours, open a support ticket.
3. By country: which ID to use
- Vietnam: the CCCD chip ID card or a passport. Photograph both sides of the CCCD clearly.
- Nigeria: the NIN national ID card, an international passport or a driving licence. The voter’s card isn’t on the official accepted list.
- Pakistan: the CNIC or a passport.
Bybit decides eligibility by nationality, not by where you live now. With a country A passport living in country B, what matters is whether country A is on the restricted list.
4. Advanced verification: proof of address
Only possible after Standard passes. Submit one document dated within three months showing your name and full address. Bybit accepts:
- Utility bills for water, electricity or gas, internet or cable TV bills
- Bank statements, a bank reference letter
- Government-issued proof of residence, tax returns
- A tenancy agreement of more than six months
- An ID that itself carries your address: national ID card, passport, driving licence, residence permit (these aren’t subject to the three-month rule)
Not accepted: mobile phone bills, insurance documents, medical bills, bank transfer slips, handwritten receipts, P.O. box addresses.
Vietnam’s CCCD carries the registered address, and the Nigerian and Pakistani ID cards carry one too, so many people pass with the ID card alone. If that fails, a statement with your address exported from online banking is the quickest.
5. Common reasons for failure
- The same ID has already verified another account. One person can verify one account.
- Face scan failed. Centre your face in the frame, no hats or sunglasses.
- The ID photo has glare, is overexposed or is cut off.
- You uploaded a screenshot or scan.
- You’re under 18, or your nationality is on the restricted list.
A misspelled name on your ID can be fixed through “Update info” on the verification page, once every 30 days.
