How to sign up for Binance, with referral code (checked November 2026)
Signing up for Binance takes three minutes: email or phone number, verification code, password. Open the sign-up page through this site's referral link and the code is filled in and shown as Linked, and once linked it can't be changed. If you forget, you can bind it once through the referral link within 30 days of signing up, as long as the account has no deposits or trades. After signing up, turn on two-factor authentication first, then verify your identity.
1. Three things to know before you sign up
The referral code goes in on the sign-up page, and once linked it can’t be changed. Open the sign-up page through the “Register” link above and the code is filled in for you, with a green tick and the word “Linked” next to it. You can also type it in. A wrong code can be edited on that step, but once you tap “Next” it’s locked.
Choose a personal account. The account type can’t be changed after sign-up. Entity accounts are a separate process that individual investors don’t need.
Binance doesn’t serve US users. Americans can only use Binance.US, which is a different company. For other regions the terms of service just say “restricted jurisdictions” without a country list. The app stores in Vietnam, Nigeria and Pakistan all carry Binance and sign-up isn’t blocked. Which products you can use only shows in the app after identity verification.
2. Sign up in three steps
- Open the sign-up page. On the official home page enter your email or phone number and tap “Sign Up”, or sign up directly with a Google, Apple or Telegram account. For a phone number, pick the country code first.
- Get the verification code. A 6-digit code arrives by email or SMS. Enter it within 30 minutes.
- Set a password. At least 8 characters, with one uppercase letter and one number. That’s it. The page shows whether the referral code is linked.
Use a long-lived email like Gmail, not a throwaway, since changing the email later requires security verification.
3. Two things to do right after signing up
First, turn on two-factor authentication. On the Account and Security page bind at least one of Binance Authenticator, Google Authenticator or a passkey. Withdrawals and security changes require it.
Second, verify your identity. Without it you can’t deposit or trade, and older unverified accounts get restricted to “withdraw only”. See the identity verification guide.
The app has Lite and Pro modes, switchable in the top right corner. Lite is simple and only has buy, sell and Earn. Stocks, P2P and spot trading live in Pro mode. All the guides on this site follow Pro mode.
4. What if I forgot the referral code
Binance’s referral program FAQ sets out the rule for binding later. An account that meets all of these conditions can bind once through the referrer’s link:
- Within 30 days of sign-up
- No deposits or trades on the account
- No referrer already linked
- A main account, not a sub-account
- Your identity details haven’t been used to verify another Binance account in the past 180 days
- Not flagged as a wash trader
Binding later only works through the referral link, not by typing a code. Log out, reopen the page through the “Register” link above, and follow the prompts. Once there’s a deposit or a trade it’s too late, so do it before funding. After linking it can’t be changed or removed either.
5. What the referral code gives you
Binance’s referral code is a fee rebate. You sign up with this site’s code, the referrer receives a share of your trading fees as commission from Binance, and passes part of it back to you at a set rate. This site’s link is set to the highest rate for you, currently up to 20% on spot, and the sign-up page shows the exact figure. The rebate is paid in USDC to your spot account every day, keeps going indefinitely, and doesn’t depend on your VIP level.
Futures fee rebates are separate, at the rate shown when you open a futures account. One catch: only accounts registered with a referral code can link a futures rebate when opening futures.
